On March 1, 2025, the Oklahoma Woman Quartet made history as the first string quartet composed and premiered by an enrolled Cherokee citizen and woman composer.

Held at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the concert brought together a captivated audience of 336 guests to experience a deeply personal and groundbreaking performance of Anjelica Lindsey’s original works.

The evening was a celebration of identity, storytelling, and resilience through music, blending the richness of Cherokee heritage with contemporary classical expression. With performances by a remarkable ensemble and the musical direction of orchestrator and collaborator Dr. Noam Faingold, the concert marked a defining moment in Indigenous classical composition.
